Feature?

Post by midblake »

I noticed on the Ric website under the tech specs for the 12 C63 that its output is Parallel Mono, and other guitars are "stereo and mono". Can anyone explain what Parallel Mono is? I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

You can run the guitar through two different amps, or one output through effects and to an amp with the other going direct to a PA system, for two possible examples.

The only thing I would add to the explanation is that with dual mono, the same output goes to both jacks; with stereo (RIC-O-Sound), the pickups' output is split so the neck goes to one amp and the bridge goes to the other.

Yeah, I didn't mention that figuring the stereo out might be obvious. This isn't the first time someone was unclear about the dual mono outputs, so it seems there is a general misunderstanding of the usefulness of this setup.

Hey Blake, I noticed on the rickenbacker.com board that you're from Sacramento! I'm a student in Davis, myself, and I also have a C63 on order. Welcome!

North Coast Music, back on 13 August 2004 I believe. I've had the chance to play two in person though, and they are excellent.

Well, I think when I joined the queue at North Coast, I was #28 or 29, so it was a very deep list. It gave me a chance to save up for the guitar over time though.

The 360/12c63 is the holy grail guitar for me, so I don't care how long it takes. Mine will probably come during the next run, which is going to be First Quarter 2007. I am down to #4 at North Coast, so it could be in the next few months, but we'll see.

I will be in NorCal until the end of March, so if I do receive it by then, I'll let you know ;).

I ordered my c63 from NCM last June, and I'm now #23 on the list. So I would guess you're around #10, Blake.

Back on Aug. 2, 2006, I was #10 at NCM, and I ordered mine in April, 2005. So, Kris, I hope you're right about Blake, because maybe I've moved up a couple notches! Kinda doubt it, haven't seen any movement in C63 shipments for a long time. Good news ahead, though with another run is due 1Q07. Thinking good thoughts...very zen....within myself...ooohhhmmmm....

Jerry, if you're #10, then Blake should be #8 or #9, as he ordered his a month earlier.
