Going to see Killswitch Engage tonight
Probably a bit rowdy for here, but I'm so excited I want to tell you anyway.
Quality metal.
Should be prety good.
Actually, has anyone here heard of them? Not a Rickenbacker band btw

It was great. They were playing their first date of their European 'As Daylight Dies' tour at Rock City in Nottingham. The support bands were Bring Me The Horizon and The Haunted.
Before the show, I met BMTH as they arrived (brought by their Mums...) and I had my pic taken with 3 of them, and poked one other. Live however, they're not really worth going to see on their own.
For the gig, I managed to get RIGHT to the front at the barrier. Aformentioned BMTH were pretty rubbish, geting through 4 or 5 'songs'. Their style was hardcore metal. Good guitar work, but **** vocals!
Next up were The Haunted. These guys were ok. Been around a bit, as shown by the bass player's belly... and all of them being around 40. But anyway, this band was closer to good 'ol hard rock, save for the shouty screamy vocals, but nice catchy riffs and good stage presence.
Finally, Killswitch came on.
Quite simply, they rocked! Adam came on wearing a gym suit complete with sweatbands on his head and his wrists, and also liked to go on about women and how much he likes them (quite a lot as it turned out), banter was good inbetween songs was good, great songs with the crowd singing most of the words back. I would have done the same but I didn't know the words, so hey-ho. There was a mosh pit 3 rows back from where I was which crushed me against the barrier, later on there was a lot of crowd surfing from crowd members which kept the bouncers busy as it's 'strictly prohibited' and I also got crushed by the sheer weight of the crowd behind, leaving me with 2 sections bruised ribs and at one point, I thought I'd actually cracked one!
Being at the front, I got the speakers full blast in my ear, but it also meant I got some pretty good photos and the bands could keep noticing me, which was pretty cool.
I left at the end of the night with 2 hurting sections of ribs, ringing ears, a strained back which liked to cramp up every time I walked and the next morning my legs and shoulders ached from trying to keep my spot at the front instead of being pushed aside. But it was one hell of a gig. Not as good as DragonForce, but they're a completely different band to Killswitch Engage.
I'll post a link to some pics I took. They were on my mobile so quality won't be stella, but they are still pretty decent.
