RIC Website Question...

Post by webhead »

I may be totally out of the loop but for the longest time RIC had a job listed on their website for an acoustic luthier. Now it's gone. Did they find someone so the shop will open up again?

During the factory tour at the 75th Anniversary, John Hall said something to the effect that they would like to start acoustic production again, but Southern California isn't the place to do it.

However, Paul W. is building Ric acoustics in the meantime.

So is Paul in effect producing Rickenbacker acoustic guitars for Rickenbacker or are they Rickenbacker instruments made under licence?

Paul makes gorgeous instruments btw if you have not seen pictures of them in his section of the forum. I wish I could afford one. Now if he offered a payment plan...just dreaming. Image

These are Rickenbacker instruments, made under license. The materials are surplus from Rick's own acoustic shop. They are built by me personally with the same methods, to the same specs, and carry a Rickenbacker nameplate, my own serial number, and my own warranty. I average one per month.

You did not mention the payment plan option? Image

Paul has a very reasonable payment plan option.

Pay him and get a great guitar or don't pay him and get nothing in return. Image

Doggone it, that's the same plan the RIC dealer has around here.

Paul, do you offer a special TRC, Wickenbacker?

If so, I'm in!
I'm just happy to be here.

JH had another, similar suggestion, but I held out for the original.
