This is a bit overpriced, innit? Just curious, since I own one.

It might be expensive for the USA, but remember UK prices are generally about twice USA prices.

So, that banged up, ripped to the bare wood in back, at least one non-original part, and you can still command three grand???
And I got mine for $150...so I've been sitting on a goldmine. I guess this really will have to be added to the funeral pyre with the swords and the gold.

How much is a new 4003 in the USA? Here in the UK it is well over $2k.

IN-teresting bass here. Old neck design with dark wings, maybe one of the last to see this kind of production. Pickguard is a replacement(as he says) but both p/ups and keys are original IMO. I'd wanna pic of the rout he says that is bigger than what he thinks it should be. Hard to say what it'll bring, a good bit I'd think.
It's certainly looks an earlier bass, with the walnut wings, straight Grovers and very dark fireglo. I haven't seen one that shade for this period. It looks like a 64 shading.
You usually see run of the mill mid 70's gear in London for 1500UKP. This looks a good potential buy for that market. Different too...
