Spot The Repro Parts On This '73 4001

Post by rickcrazy »

Okay, fellows. See if you can spot the four repro parts on this 1973 4001. The tuners are obvious replacement parts, so I'm not including them in said four items. Go!

The bridge is Allparts, the switch tip should be black, there should not be finger rest holes in the pickguard, and the the treble surround is 4003.

Not sure it's a 73, or it's an early 73 with the Chequered binding ....

Are the tuner surrounds un-original?

You're not going to smack our knuckles with a ruler if we get it wrong are you? Image

Not sure about the parts, but I do miss my Black-face Deluxe!

Scott, you're doing best so far. Try and spot item four.

Everyone, please note that I said repro parts, which means none of said four items is an original Rickenbacker part.

There's not that many parts left, !!! unless it's got one of your pickups, and non-Ric strings !!!

P.S.

Kevin,

rest assured - the winner gets one of my hot 4001/4003 treble high gain pickups.

Jim, look closer. Forget about the pickups and the strings.

My vote: tailpiece, treble pup surround, switch bat, & TRC.
Plus five minus five!
