4003s/5 pics

Post by shakey_slim »

Hey all,

Could somebody send me (or post) some pics of a 4003s/5 bridge and tailpiece? I have questions as to whether mine is original. What would also help is a pic of where the strings anchor (from both sides, anchor side and string side).

Thanks!

That is an original style 5 string tailpiece probably from the late 80's. When I get home I will post pics of both tailpiece styles used on the 4003S/5.

I thought just the middle two string openings were joined (E-A-D opening) and the B and G still had their own holes. Hmmmmm.

That's what I thought. The bass is an '86, but I haven't been able to find any clear pics of tailpieces on the net.

Dan, my 4003S/5 from June, 1986 has tailpiece identical to yours. Perhaps only the early ones had the full width opening.

I don't remember what year mine was but I'm fairly certain it had the tailpiece I described.

Thanks guys!

Whew! All I could find were pics of the later type with the string slots. Kinda had me wondering for a bit.
