Model 1996 is gone.

Gone too is the 4004/5cii.

I noticed that too, Brad. If they weren't a premium guitar before, they sure are now.

Wow. I guess we knew this was coming. With demand being much higher than supply, they could probably go up a bit more to force the market to even out. It seems like all models went up at least 100, but I also noticed many that went up around 200-300. How does this impact the street price of those models already ordered? i.e., does a model go up in price or does the dealer still pay the price it was when it was ordered?

It appears that every "staple" model has gone up in price, as well as the V series. The C series guitars have stayed the same.

I think the important thing to watch for is to see what the street price does. It wasn't too long ago when musiciansfriend increased their prices 15% of list overnight. If they drop back to around 70%, the actual price won't be much different, but if they don't, 1400 for a 330 seems a bit high to me. Maybe that's kind of the point, too. I'm sure this will help out the back log a bit.

Guitars that dealer have on order will ship at the old price, so it would be difficult for them to increase prices on "done deals". Goods they might be bringing in for inventory (not very likely!) they may choose to price based on their cost to replace it.

The 381 guitars have been hit with some extraordinary costs in the last few years, particularly with regard to the 8/4 wood but we've held firm until now. Overall, the increase was just under 10%- some didn't go up at all, as noted- and, of course, it's been a number of years since any changes. There were a few "technical" changes in pricing to even out some discrepancies between 12-stringers and 3 pickup models.

Does anyone have a 2005 price list? I ordered a 381 in June 2005 but I can't remember what the list was...I think it was around $2700 which seems like a real bargain now. Can anyone help me out with this?

Mr. Hall, is the 381 the only model that is cut from 8/4 wood? Do you use flatsawn or quartersawn?

Price increases are everywhere at the moment. I certainly don't have any problems with RIC's increases. It certainly couldn't be costing any less to manufacture these instruments.

Fender have just upped the list price on their Hot Rod DeVille (Mexican-made I think) amps by at least $100 over here. Not sure about all their other gear. I might drop into my 'local' tomorrow morning and ask about other manufacturers.
