In response to a question on the RIC forum about whether or not all 75ths will have thin necks, JH said the following:

"Given that these instruments have not yet been produced, I can't answer that now.

We are currently delivering both types and will for awhile; whether we make the final cut-over complete by the time of the 75th anniversary production nobody knows."

Sounds like some of those getting 75th 4003s will have thin necks, and maybe others will not...as if 75 in the world didn't make them unique enough.

I hate to drag the thread back on topic, but I did get confirmation earlier this week that the dealer got my deposit, so I'm in for a 660DCM, the model that will be the most beautiful of all.

Good news ... I have it on good authority that the 660 anniversary models are close to being done.

Here are some quickies of the first one off the line, safely home after NAMM.

A "history" shot of three cresting waves, my JG 425V63, FG'66 450/12, and the DCM 660 75th:

Detail shots of the 660:

I should apologize for the poor quality of these. They really were off-the-cuff, taken at home...but my studio lighting setup was delivered to my office while I was out of town, and as soon as I do a bit of futzing with it, we should start seeing some better photos!

Paul, that's beautiful.... But I think you need some Zymol on that one! Image
