Yep, that was a helluva buy..The body and neck without anything on it is worth more than $600 by a long way.

The inlay material is probably original on this bass, some of the last basses made with edge-to-edge old style inlays used a more solid-looking material after the crushed pearl was used up.

Yes, it's real. And John, you're right about the inlays.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
