Boundless enthusiasm
After my recent purchase of a ’79 Bugundyglo ‘S’ I am totally sold on unbound Rics. The ‘S’ is everything that I ever wanted in a bass. I was drooling over this 4000 that I snagged last night since day one that it was on the ‘bay. I need to sort the pick up, but barring that I hope this will be a keeper, it is just so pretty.

Congratulatons Bob,
Sure looks like a sweet one!
My "S" basses are an addiction. I like the 4003's but they fall short of the feel from my V63 or CS.
I play sitting down and that binding really digs in, even though it does look so good!
I've looked at a few 4000 basses but since I pivot my thumb on the neck PU for the majority of the time, I've just passed them by. The one at Andy's guitars had me drooling for many months...
Also, the set neck thing kind of puts me off. But, I've heard NOTHING but praise for these basses.
A full report when you get the chance, PLEASE!

"Freedom of expression is important, but I have learned that people want to know how much you care before they care how much you know."
The only time a bass player gets noticed is when he stops playing.

Maybe I am too traditional, too hidebound, in always going for the checkered binding. Somehow, I have always felt bound by the seeking after the old checkered flag. Maybe I should let my imagination know no bounds for a change too...

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and sit in with the band whenever you can, to keep your chops up!
