Another CS up for grabs

Hey, another CS just showed up. Anybody watching?
This is a nice one. I hope it will find a good home. I would love to get it, but I just got one and can't dig myself any deeper in debt.

Hey Jim,
Agreed, England will always be there!
Tell the Mrs. that you will let her play it once in a while!
Two quotes that I've BORROWED as my own....
"It's only pennies a day"....."Pennies a day". My other favorite is from this forum......
"Forgiveness is easier to get than permission"...

The only time a bass player gets noticed is when he stops playing.

Kris, it is the pickup surround that is incorrect (the larger rounded corners). And the pickguard is not proportioned like a 60's model. Apparently the CS was never made to unique specs and changed along with the V-63 evolution. When the V-63 neck got wider, so did the CS. When the headstock got shorter, so did the CS. I have a '91 V-63 and it has the longer headstock, correct surround and thinner neck. My '97 CS has rounded surround, wider neck and shorter headstock. I'm not complaining; I love this bass! It is my favorite Rickenbacker (even nicer than my '72). I have read other descriptions of early 90's CS's and V-63's with the thinner neck, etc. so I am assuming that mine are not the only ones.
In fact there's snow here in London today, best buy the CS.
Dane & Dave, I'd never noticed the difference in surround before, but comparing the one on ebay to my earlier one, there is a difference. The jackplate on mine also seems in a slightly different place relative to the pickguard - probably due to the different pickguard.

Rickenbackers: 4003 FG, 4080 BG, 4001CS, 4003 DCM, 4080/12 MG, 4003s5 JG, 4004Cii MG.

Good advice from all, Tony, you know how bad I've been wanting one of these, but since it would be my FOURTH Ric bass in less than a year, I'd better go along with the missus on this one. Besides, hoping to catch a show or rehearsal with Pete & Seyes while I'm over there, if timing allows. I have a feeling that a CS with my name on it is out there somewhere! Plus, there is my upcoming project....

I Love this one!I almost bid the 3K last night but figured I would sleep on it..Now what?
What does this mean?
Is this a problem?
... There are a few slight cracks in the varnish around the tuning pegs (shown in photo). It was taken to a professional for assessment, but repair / refinishing was not recommended so it has been left as is.....
Is this worth More than the Blue V63?
That Blue one is Rare....
