I remember being in school, reading a scathing review of it by Rolling Stone (remember those days, when R.S. would actually give a million dollar act a thrashing if said act deserved it?)
Thus I was able to avoid the film all these years. The soundtrack, however, I was not as fortunate to dodge. A high school friend had it on one day, the radio or an album. I loathed Aerosmith then and they have not improved, to me at least, since.
I never forgave the Bee Gees for their contributions to disco. However, more than any other act, they probably inspired the infamous Disco Demolition Night at White Sox Park on a July night in '79, which is now available in a hilarious DVD documentary that I was fortunate enough to see over the holidays. But I digress...

I despised the Beegees during their disco period, and couldn't understand why grown men wanted to pitch their voices like old Mickey Mouse voiceovers. (Think about it. Try talking in that voice, and then ask yourself how sexy you sound.) But over the years I've come to a better appreciation of their contributions.
Even so, I much prefer the She Gees.
