"Personally I think the Blackstars are the ugliest Ric basses. Way too much black."

it's like how much more black can it be?...the answer is none...none more black.

Jared why do you have a white stripe on your pic over the rear pup? Is it something we should know LOL?
Beside owning 14 guitars and basses and my own homestudio, what do I want more?

Those of us who have been around a while know the story!

My company has been considering merging with another company, which would necessitate a new name for the merged entity; my suggestion: Darth Pharma ... Image

Sooooooo, what's the Forum's thoughts on current Blackstar value? I have my own idea but am interested in what others think.

Not that I'm interested. Image

The last nice one on Ebay sold for over $2500.

I love my micro dot neck basses. They sound different from the standard 4003 and all three have excellent action.

Ted, it may have something to do with the painted fretboard. I know it sounds strange since standard 4003's have clear painted boards but my 4004 faux Blackstar certainly sounds/plats different then it did before the blackening (better). Maybe it's due to more paint on the fretboard since it's color and clear?!?!?! Just a thought.

IIRC the Blackstar, Redneck, and Tuxedo have all-maple necks; could that contribute to the difference?
