Any Turquoise 350's or 660's out there? How about a 4001v63?

Dare I say that 4004 would look pretty cool in a Trans Turquoise..Hmmm..(light bulb goes on over Eric's head)

Paul,
This was a brilliant idea...at one per week, any predictions (or calculations) on when the thread will run out?

I've been hoping for a trans teal or trans turquoise finish for a long time. I'm sure that will look great, especially on a 4004Cii. I wanna see it, if it happens!! Image

Johneek, there are 18 official colors that I can find: Fireglo, Jetglo, Mapleglo, Burgundy, Azureglo, Midnight Blue, Autumnglo/Walnut, Red, Ruby, White, Silver, Turquoise, Sea Green, Desert Gold, Montezuma Brown, Blue Boy, Blueburst, and Amber Fireglo. There may have been other ancient colors ("Natural," "Brown," "Blonde") but I haven't been able to confirm them. The Music Connection/Rickenbacker Page has a color/date chart which is credited to the Rittor (Japan) book "Rickenbacker: Pioneer of the Electric Guitar," but where they got the information is unclear. We've already found that the chart isn't completely accurate, and the fact that some colors of the year were extended due to production delays complicates things even more.

Then, of course, there are unofficial aftermarket colors like "Aquaglo" and "Mink" . . .

But, figure 18 weeks of color fun!

Shame on you Paul....let us not forget Translucent Green, Red and Blue tsk, tsk! Shouldn't the oil finished walnut count as well or would you like to lump those with the Walnut/AutomnGlo finish? They are not "colors", but they have color. Image

edit......There is also the BananaGlo fom the CS models. It's not a regular production color for all models but is still an official color. I'm not trying to be a tool, just thinkin' via the keyboard.

Doh! Forgot the "Cheyenne only" colors of Transparent Green, Red, and Blue, and the CS "Creme" or "bananaglo" or "ambered white." Of course, that "color" is limited to only that one "model" (and other custom attempts).

So now we're up to 22 official colors. And the oiled walnut "finish," not really a "color" -- and what was that clear-coated vermillion(?) wood 600-series guitar?

I'll bet if the crashing waves are keeping John Hall awake, he'll come up with more.

Jeff, there are a couple of publicity photos in the Smith book showing a "rare pink" and a "Cloverfield Green" Combo's, and there were potentially many others in the "ancient" category. But if, in week 2, I was to call for "Cloverfield Green," how many photos would show up?
