That's actually something I thought about doing way back in the day when my '77 started suffering from the dreaded "lift".

Lucky for me that I just didn't have the technical skills to have even ATTEMPTED to pull that off.

Looks like this guy did a pretty good job! Even made a nice "V" pattern for the strings to pass through.

I just hope there's string-anchoring grommets in the back of that bass!
My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

Hmmm ... that is a good price on a 4003s5 ... I should buy it and restore it with some of my spare parts ...

You can use the bass for religious purposes as it is rather holey(holy?)

I accually think the idea is pretty good, but the string angle seems a bit to steep.
