4005 on eBay
Kinda surprised nobody has pointed out this baby yet:

Strange that a truss rod cover would be missing, but it looks pretty authentic. Any forum member is welcome to purchase it for me as a birthday present.

OK, here's the scoop on the 4005FL: It is a real Rick, S/N IK***, made in Nov. '69; the fingerboard has been replaced with a slab of Rosewood with plastic inlays at the designated fret positions; the action is pretty high as the neck has a lot of bow in it that probably will be hard to adjust out, if you play URB perhaps this won't be an issue (see further comments); the nut is not original; the truss rod nuts are chewed up and there is wood carved out below them so this has been messed with; the fingerboard is separating from the neck down to around the 4th fret position and there is a crack in the neck on the treble side about 3 1/2 inches long; the TRC is long gone, it will never be found (he actually thinks he threw it away !); the neck PU is bent up a bit and it is mounted kind of funny; all the o-rings for the PUs are missing; some of the controls are wired backwards; all the pickguard screws are missing, it is only being held on by the thumbrest screws; many screws are rusted; there are a lot of extra holes in the body from various places where strap buttons were placed at different times and currenty has two Fender style buttons in the wrong place; the tailpiece end is attached at a funny angle; the body has a fair amount of dings here and there, plus a lot of buckle rash which does not go through the finish however; it does have original tuning keys and checker binding. Overall this bass is not worth anywhere near the asking price IMHO. It is a beater. The photos on eBay hide a lot of sins!
