So why is he not getting any bids? Could it be that he does not take PayPal, and is 3 feedback (not a bad thing for a newbie buyer but definitely a bad thing for a newbie seller) and only takes "you're screwed if I go to ground on ya and never ship to ya" MOs and CCs? Even getting a personal check credited back by banks in 47 states will take going in front of a judge and paying big bucks and time to cajole a court order to the bank on the basis of that state's fraud statutes Image

I just have to say, a little tongue in cheek, that I could not go through life assuming everyone is a crook.

Send a USPS Money Order via Certified Mail with return receipt. You can then hold them to Federal Mail Fraud charges if they don't ship the item.

I assume almost everyone is not a crook. In the words of the (dead) Ronald Reagan though, Trust But Verify. Cause a few are. Bob's advice is Good Advice Image

Hey Bob, how easy is it to actually get the USPS to come to closure on this? I was told last year by a friend who is an FBI agent here in Washington DC (who knows the ropes about the USPS through working with them on a few cases he says) that the Postal Inspector's office does not act to indict on mail fraud charges until the single loss is greater than $10,000 or at least 25 people have filed similar complaints about the same inter-state seller (regardless of the amount if greater than $500) within a 30 day period.

I'll check that out Elys. Not certain about how they act to indict on the charges.

Good! Hooray Bob!!!! Do so, because I would really be more relaxed about bidding on an under-$10K auction if I knew for sure that the bas***d that potentially screwed me someday on a non-shipment would be prosecuted by the "spendey guvviment" to whom I pay all these taxes to pay for their salaries, etc.

And without me having to fly to his state and prefer charges through the regular channels of his local govviment Image

I am STILL trying to figure out what US Agency will help me charge UPS for losing my and Jon Casselman's 73 BG masterpiece, after they "lost it" most likely to some unscrupulous UPS driver's trunk.....

I think this guy will be legit. Now you might have to sell the case to Paul. It would look great with his PW Mink 4001.

You guessed it, John! I get in that mood every year about this time Image

However, a friend of mine in Canada says that I have it pretty good only paying one-quarter to one-third of my annual income in taxes (fed, state, local, hidden).

He says that although health-care is free or cheap where he lives, he gets to take home only one-third of what he makes.

I am sure that he is exaggerating, and thus I remain in a grouchy mood about the "spendey guvviment" around this time every year Image

I'm right there with ya Elys. It's not that I mind paying taxes so much, it's just where my taxes are going right now (outside the country to benefit someone else).
