Hey everybidy. I was just picking up my 4003 from my luthier after some minor adjustments and we were talking Rics and tunes. He showed me this one. My very favorite. Just the beginning of the song gives me chills. Check it out:

Nice bass he is playing, but what is it? Is it an old 'S'or even a V63? Looks like a FG with a high gain.

Great track, I got Fish Out Of Water the week it came out.

This is not THE original... that was refinished years before this was shot. He owns many Rics.
This is probably another RM1999 or an old S, as Bob points out. It couldn't be a V series, as they went made yet.

This is the Donovan RM1999 bass that VG now owns.

Yes, you guys are right. Just trying to recover from the shock of seeing it for the first time. It was shot in 1975, so the CS was already done.

Talk about a shock, Kris... I had never seen Squire with a FG before. Thanks for sharing the vid!
Cheers

Speaking of chills, after I watched this one, I checked out the "Yours is no Disgrace" from 1975 clip. Squire's playing a *ender!

Kevin, what F***er is he playing? I am a massive RIC/Chris Squire fan, but I do use my Jazz Bass at certain jazzy gigs along with my EUB.

I don't know. I didn't watch all the way through, and could only see the back of the peg-head.

I'm a JB fan too. I played my '65 for many years before getting back into Ricks.

Ok at about 11:05 in the video, it looks like the Rick is back. Maybe it was getting tuned?

On the old Yesyears video he plays a Telecaster Bass on one of the early clips. (I can't recall the tune)

What's he playing here, besides his Rick and the green Mouradian?
