His Electra MPC bass. MPC stands for Modular Powered Circuits - built-in effects modules, like phase shifter, auto wah, flanger, octaver, overdrive, fuzz, and something called "frog noise" and "tank tone". They had Ric copy bridge/tailpieces. They were built in the 70's by Matsumoku, Japan.

Here's one on eBay, still at $199.

Ooops, Youtube removed due to copyright infringement? Is this due to the video licensing, or is just plain illegal to have, possess, play, display, or otherwise think about a Rick copy, even the hardware?

Thanks, Ilan. First time I'd seen Chris with that bass. Also, Wes is right, the video I linked has been pulled.
