I "inherited" a quartet from my boss for my MC240. Beat the NOS Sylvania, NOS GE, and of course the early Chinese 6L6s that were available at that time.

My mind must be going! I swear I remember there being some tubes in the early ones, but once I looked at the inside, it looks the same. I looked at the VA-300 manual and it says the lamps were 115v and were part of the thermal protection. I guess that is why you had to have panel lights for it to work.

Sorry for the confusion.

So you're saying that if a Vocal Master's lamp(s) don't work, that the unit doesn't work?

(I like Vocal Masters.)
