Rumor? or??

Post by rick12dr »

I can't recall where or from who I heard this a while back, but something about a possible McCartney collaboration with Brian Setzer??
True or not, that would have to just kill. And my call to "fill out" the rest of a working band is this, no more, no less, No Guest appearances; these guys can stand on their own[don't ya think, huh??] would be Ringo on drums, and Little Richard on keys.Just the four of them.No contemporaries up there with them "paying homage to their heros".Think they couldn't shake you up a bit??

We need another "Wilbury's" type band. I wonder why more rockers don't collaborate (contractual limbo? Egos?) In the above mentioned band, why not Fogarty playing with Mac?

Fogarty is too good of a singer, LOL. Imagine McCartney, Fogarty and Little Richard whooping it up?! would be UNBELIEVABLE!!! With Ringo on drums?

Uhh, could someone just please answer the first sentence I posed? That was the Real intent of the post to begin with. And seriously, I doubt you'd ever get Fogerty to do anything like this, and Little Richard probably wouldn't either.

I thought it was Brian Wilson? If it were Brian Setzer I would remember that as it seems like an unusual combination to me. Of course, McCartney and Jackson was the ultimate weird combination so anything is possible. I bet Paul wishes he could wipe out that part of his musical past.

Don, you are probably right about those two guys but it would be nice to see a band like that even for one album, I know that Little Richard was one of McCartney's idols, you can hear it in his voice.
Fogarty would be the odd man there, too.
I was thinking about what their harmonies would sound like, and how Richard's piano would drive the band. Would maybe get Mac and Ringo to play a little rock n roll again, which they were great at, Probably no egos either, LOL. Wilson and McCartney would be great too, although much more subdued.

Thinking about it, The Beatles need a guitarist & a lead singer, The Who need a bassist & drummer.

Why not Ringo, Roger, Paul & Peter? And the best part is they could play only their Rickenbackers!

Zak Starkey Usually gigs with the Who, and he was taught By Keith Moon, and Zak's style is perfect for the Who.
Lennon once said Fogarty was his favorite singer (and sometimes plays a ric, to boot!).
With Mac on bass, they'd have oh I dunno, twenty sets of good stuff.

And then they could do a few covers.

Yeah, when it first played on PBS back whenever it was it came out. When he plugged the Bigsbyed 1997SPC[3 PU] through the old rolled and pleated Naugahyde Kustom amp, and told the bit about "this was the setup I used to get the "Suzy
Q sound", and then launched into it, That was cool. And "Born on the Bayou"....

I would personally like to see Paul link up with Kak(drums), Will Owsley, Jason Falkner(bass), and Emitt Rhodes (piano).
