Yet, another Blackstar on the bay

Too bad the back is autographed by the Smithereens.
One funny story about this bass for me.
This is the EXACT same bass that I almost bought at the Bass Centre. I turned 18 and my dad took me to the Bass Centre to buy me a new bass.
On a stand next to the stairs were two basses. Both black. One was an American F*nder Jazz and the other was an all black bass that was labeled the "Vader" Bass, or more aptly, the Rickenbacker Blackstar.
Chris, the salesman, let me test both out but for some reason, he was intent on selling/pushing the F*nder. My mind was on a Rickenbacker. PERIOD. But being the great salesman he was, he sold me on the F*nder and, my dad being a F*nder fan, was also intent on me getting the Jazz. So I walked out of the place with a brand new 1989 American made Jazz bass. As an added bonus, I got the most horrid smelling bass case in the world. It smelled as if an animal carcass as stashed within the lining. It took years to get that smell out.
Years later I traded that bass for a 1980 4001 MG, which was later sold to David Axt here in Seattle.
To this day I regret not buying that bass, and low and behold, she is up on the bay, with autographs on her back and I bet some interesting history.
Just out of curiosity, is there a way to remove those autographs with out ruining the finish?

"It is getting to the point where I cannot afford to buy my own collection."
I'm already AT that point!

The only time a bass player gets noticed is when he stops playing.

For your viewing pleasure, here's another Blackstar that just sold:

I've always wanted a Blackstar but just can't justify the premium. At today's price point I would go with a pseudo-Blackstar. A 4003s, black hardware and a refinish would probably only set you back $2k. A true SPC Blackstar is certainly special but I'd make due with an imitation at this point.
(well, actually I do make do with my 4004 sorta Blackstar)
