Hello,

is the hardware on these instruments chrome or nickel plated?

Thanks

The only nickel plate used on current Rickenbacker basses is in the tuners of the C64. The V63 is all chrome. Older 4003s and all 4001s (except for those with Grovers) came with nickel plated tuners.

Not only are they all chrome but the parts are hand picked before assembly. During the tour back in August, John Hall told us that they make sure the color of the chrome parts closely matches on any given instrument. Pretty cool, eh?

The attention paid to these instruments during manufacture is astounding.

It's the Disneyworld of guitars. Even the slightest detail don't get overlooked.

Man, I love 'em.

Charly: Chrome varies slightly in color from blue to yellow depending on how clean the chroming baths are when the parts are dipped. The EPA controls and the cost of the chroming salts make it too expensive to not squeeze every bit of plate out of a batch.
