I tried doing the same thing here, Jim! Didn't work....
The problem was that in order to express one's age in hex (or octal for that matter) you cannot use the phrase "thirty" in front of the "four". You have to say "Hi! I am "three-four hex"" instead of "Hi! I am thirty-four". Even if you leave off stating the base, it still is "Hi! I am "three-four".
Doesn't quite have the same punch with the ladies
