I've never seen this version before, were they unsure about using the Pepper suits and filmed another version that didn't get used?

I would guess they filmed 2 versions so they could edit them together.

They accually did 3 versions, I can look up what the 3rd one was if you'd like, but first I have a biology exam

The ending where the hula girls dance actually has a name (though it wasn't credited on the record) - it's called Maori Finale.

There a few nice sustained shots of the top of Paul's bass when it was still painted in the psychedelic style, too. I'm not sure I've ever seen John look so docile on film!

I think they were mod hula carnabyesque frooging streaight-from-central-casting belly dancers.

Whatever they were they upstaged the fabs themselves ... (almost). I wonder who thought of THAT little touch for the trailer to the song. Pauly most likely.
