I think JH addressed the speculation on the abbreviation of the 'C' once before. If there was an answer, I don't believe he gave it. At least I don't recall it.

I don't know why you're omitting HG. It was a legitimate, official color and abbreviation used here for many years while these units were produced for the German market.
"C" has a definite meaning that has never been announced.
So does anyone have any pics & info on these mysterious 'B' models?
I had never heard of them before yesterday.
Remember, I'm in a small town in Atlantic Canada, & the only RIC advertising I've ever seen were magazine promos for the 'V' series (beautifully done, BTW) back in the early 1980's (I think).
