The Girls with Kaliedoscope Eyes!

Post by johnashfield »

Tomorrow in SF!

Some buddies and I are playing all of "Abbey Road" and a small pile of other mid to late Beatles tunes...

I'll be playing my c64s, and doing a bunch of singing. Hopefully we won't mangle things too much. Of course if you've seen the videos of the She Gees or SHelo you could imagine!

When I lived in Kansas City back in the 80's, there was a local band called LUCY. They were a real good cover band but what they were really known for was their 3rd set of Beatles songs. This was way before tribute bands so it seems these guys were a bit ahead of their time in that respect. The lead singer was also a left handed bassist and played a mapleglo 4001S. The keyboardist had a Fairlight 9000 which was THE keyboard to have back in the day. When these guys played the second side of Abbey Road one nite, they brought the house down. Now the singer/bassist is actually in a Beatles tribute band in KC. My hats off to any band that can pull off that material.
