Robby Robertson/The Band

Post by dustymurphy »

Does anybody know if Robby Robertson had a Ric 12 string. A friend of mine swears he had a 12-string 360 or 330. I know he had a lap steel, but I don't know anything about any other Rics. Anybody got any idea?
Thanks!

Besides the above-mentioned lap steel, I've seen Robbie with Strats, Teles, and an Epiphone hollowbody. Not to mention the rare Gibson doubleneck and harp guitar played in "The Last Waltz", but those two were rented for the shoot. Never seen him with a 12 but who knows.

I know he offered a store just off of Sunset Blvd. ten grand for a mid 60s 360/12WB in the mid 80s, if they could find him one, which of course would have been almost a decade too late to get it in on some Band sessions. They had just sold one to some dude who had played in Kiss. They had a picture of the guy with the guitar, and the guy who was working in the shop said "isn't it a shame that guy got that guitar?"
