The winner (corvette8t9) is in Alamogordo NM, US. But the winner has been selling lots of Japanese tour items recently too, so it may be that the winner is not natively English-speaking, and was "taken in" by the misleading nature of the auction description language.

I hope the winner makes it clear to eBay how deceptive this auction really was, when he files his claim. Because IMHO no one in their right mind, with an honest and straightforward auction description of "just the case", would pay over $850 USD for just an empty case like this.

I hope the buyer doesn't really pay and ONLY get a case. If the seller has any morals he would not sell for that price.

Now THERE is a true and unabashed optimist! No wonder he has earned the appellation "Zarc" from RIC itself, and lived to grin about it Image VBG Image

Only question is, can it hold a 21 fretter?

Heh - I can buy quite a few of those genuine silver vintage reissue new Rick 4001 cases from Albert for $159 apiece for what that poor guy in New Mexico paid for that single case Image

You know, you have a point! The entire bass is 1/2-inch longer, isn't it? I am going to go measure the silver case I already have right now to see if it would fit!

Wallet is aching, but my dream is alive! I have a very warm spot in my heart, and I hope it will last awhile Image

Yikes, Marc, the silver case should fit! It has 3/4 inch of extra space above the tip of the headstock of my 1990 4001 Image

I think the silver cases were made for 21 fretters, all of us 20 fret owners have to compromise for the chosen few. One day, one day... Congrats again Elys.

PS: I actually had a dream about your bass last night, I think I need to get out more...
