Monty brothers reunited!!

Post by ozover50 »

Yay!! Image

My Montezuma Brown 330 has arrived home to live with his 350v63 brother. They met briefly in SF and at the 75th in SoCal but were again separated when 'Dad' took the v63 on a bit of a tour.

Thanks to The Curmudge they are together again. Thank you for your work in making it all happen, PW.... making the gold guards and arranging the white/gold TRC swap just before RIC changed its policy on that.

Thanks again also to Stan Castles for selling me 'Mad Monty' and allowing him to emigrate to Oz.

Pics of the 'brothers' and the full Rickenbacker family will be forthcoming!

The Gretsch DeVille arrives tomorrow! Image

Congratulations! You should post pictures of the Gretsch too. I'm a bit of a Gretschie as well as a Ricophile. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.
Thanks!

Thanks, Joey, Brian and Dusty.

Dusty: The Gretsch is an interesting one. Paul has done some fantastic mods to it. I'll post some more pics and an explanation in the 'Others' section after it's arrived but in the meantime here's a sneak preview. This was taken while the alligator skin armrest was being held in place.

BTW, there are many here that have a strong liking for Gretsch instruments also, so you're defininitely not on your own! Image

Did you wrestle that alligator to get it's skin? You know, being down under and all! Image

We don't have them over here, Jeff...... we's got crocodiles!! Paul may have done a bit of "alligatah wrastlin'" down in the 'glades at some stage.

There will be a matching strap at some stage in the future, too! Image

Nice Howard! The Gretsch is also fair game for posting on Curmudge's Reflections.

I'm glad it is safely with you, Aitch. She was a beaut, and even looks better with the touches Paul added that I had already seen. I try not to miss her...

There is a thread in his section about it, Peter, so I'll definitely put it in there. I've probably forgotten half of the mods done to it, so I'm hoping Paul will chime in with the full story after I've posted the pics. It will be arriving at the office today and wouldn't you know it? I'm taking the day off to have a long lunch with mates!!

Stan: It's still a beaut! By far the best neck (i.e not 'clubby') out of my three 330s and some amazing grain in the fingerboard. Any time you want to pop over and talk about old times with him, you're most welcome! Image

Aitch, I guess the MB was a beaut in my case, and now it is a beaut in your case.
