Hey, I'm on your side; I just pointed out how much worse he could have stated it.
Cops play blackjack? Cool!
Actually, the police where I live are great, a really super group of guys. We had one in particular that was a tremendous credit to the city, loved by all including the many tourists who visit. At 60 years old, this former Marine Corp. sergeant was tough as nails and ran circles around the 20 somethings, but still the nicest guy you can imagine. I saw him on duty on day last summer and less than two weeks later he was dead from cancer.
(Can't say much about those in the next city over, however.)
Ok sports fans (edit: this really has nothing to do with sports, I am referring to the topic), what's the connection?
As a point of reference, everything I see, hear, feel, etc. reminds me of a song, or an album.........I usually refer to it as the music filter in my head, and everything gets filtered!
They sat together in the park
As the evening sky grew dark,
She looked at him and he felt a spark tingle to his bones.
'Twas then he felt alone and wished that he'd gone straight
And watched out for a simple twist of fate.
The backstage manager was pacing all around by his chair.
"There's something funny going on," he said, "I can just feel it in the air."
He went to get the hangin' judge, but the hangin' judge was drunk,
As the leading actor hurried by in the costume of a monk.
There was no actor anywhere better than the Jack of Hearts.
"Yeah Jeff, but were you "doing windmill strums like crazy?!" Kids these days, I tell ya!"
Actually I did that kind of stuff then and now ... I smashed a bass on stage, I get feedback, I slam the bass into the side of the amp and bang it with my fist and knees ... except now Rics are so valuable that I think twice before bashing a bass ... I have been known to knock a bass completely out of tune by banging it around ... at times like that it comes in handy having some non ric basses ...
Charly, first I would recommend: Don't drink and play! On the other hand if you wouldn't have been sedated by the Alc the pain would have been much more. At least you could finish the gig.
I personally play w/o finger rest and won't buy any 4001 of earlier make than '72, to avoid such problems.
