Statistical Question
Of the 300 series, is fireglo the most frequent color on order? There seem to be an inordinate number of fireglo RICs up for auction on ebay lately. This could be mere coincidence. Or it could be a statistically significant sampling of the colors available on 300 series guitars. Just curious.

James, there are some finish statistics here:

but they are not model-specific. One could assume that the percentages are similar across the models as an approximation.

As I suspected, the three most statistically significant finishes are 1. Fireglo, 2. Jetglo, 3. Mapleglo. It's interesting to see that Burgundyglo was as popular as it was, along side Midnight Blue.
I don't know if it will lessen the waiting period to request a Fireglo guitar or not. On the other hand, it may not in the end make a lick of difference. But it would seem to be a safe bet to put in an order for one of the three most popular finishes. I'd rather have a Midnight Blue guitar than a Fireglo. But I certainly wouldn't turn down a Mapleglo.

I wish there were more stats on this.
For example, I pretty sure Jetglo is the clear majority of 4003s being produced, followed distantly by Fireglo and Mapleglo and COYs. Then Midnight blue.
But for 4004's I'm sure the translucent Greens and Blues far outnumber the Jetglos.
I'll guess that the order of 370s is Mapleglo first, then Fireglo and Jetglo.
It would be interesting to see what is order per model.

Color preferences are tremendously model specific so an aggregate statistic isn't particularly meaningful.
4003's are most often ordered in Jetglo, while the 330 is most frequently Fireglo. There's really no single artist associated with these to point to as a factor of their popularity.
360's are most popular in Jetglo, likely through the Peter Buck connection.
370/12's are of course most often Mapleglo . . . there was some guy . . . what's his name?
