The latest Solid Silver Sixties tour in the UK has the Dakotas as part of the act. The act has no original members left in the line up but they have evolved from the 1989 reformed version that did have two original members. The question is should they still be called the Dakotas? and should they be on a sixties tour? They are a great act but I personally think they should be known as the New Dakotas or similar. What do others think? For more info on them go to www.thedakotas.co.uk

The Modern version of the Dakotas
Which two original members are you thinking of Rob, Mike Maxfield certainly but I don't recall any other original in the 89 line up.
I agree that New Dakotas should be more apt, they were always seen as Billy J Kramer's backing band though all records in 60's if you notice were credited to Billy J Kramer with the Dakotas and not "And The Dakotas", the two parts were brought together by Epstein of course.
