Melibee taking time off....

Man, I feel bad! I missed this thread until just now. Glad to hear things are ok now. It was nice to meet a former neighbor (I'm a Sdak boy for those wondering), and fellow Ric Praise team member at the 75th! It would be awesome to play a tune or two sometime. I should have stayed down in OC instead of commuting. There wasn't enough time to get to know folks a little better. If we find out we are going to be at the same confluence, maybe we could work up a tune or two! The devil's music, baah! I may have even figured out what I am going to do with this brand new 4004 that is winging its way here!

Great Melissa. I will look forward to your R&B review on your return.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Whew, finally made it back through all the nasty weather!
The trip was a great getaway.... lots of relatively warm weather (well, for people from northern Minnesota, anyway) with ample opportunities for beachcombing, shopping, and sightseeing--very relaxing, all in all.... the kids had lots of fun, too--they especially enjoyed the Moody Gardens complex, with its 3-D Imax theater and Rainforest, Aquarium, and interactive museum pyramids. The current museum theme was called JAM "Journey through Amazing Music," which was designed to be fun, even for non-musicians--although some of the displays were a bit shabby, and the hands-on guitar and bass allowed patrons to pluck the strings, but there was no way to tune them, as the instruments were bolted to the display table and the tuning pegs were boxed in.... However, I had some fun playing with the digital keyboard and drum machine in the jam room, and I think those will probably be the next toys on my want list.
Sorry, Peter, I wish I had a live music review for you, but didn't have a chance to hear any, LOL! However, I can probably name a few good restaurants, and have eaten lots and lots of excellent seafood!
The return trip home was miserable, as we encountered turbulence flying out of Houston, and our flight was diverted from Minneapolis to Stevens Point, Wisconsin because of icy runways, so we had to kill a couple of hours there before getting back on the plane again (with cranky kids in tow), and ended up spending an extra night in Minneapolis because of a big snowstorm, which we ended up driving through anyway all the way home, which took all day yesterday. Sheesh, this is the first real snow we've had all winter--what a welcome back....
And today it's been back to work, full speed ahead; the usual grind, plus unpacking.... Ah well, I suppose it's good to be home again....

Hey, Melibee!!! Welcome back. In spite of the eventful trip home, I hope you, Marc and the boys are suitably refreshed and ready to jump back into the fray.
You've got to come to Oz at some stage...... even in the depths of winter you have to go to the alps for snow!!
Come on down!!

Thanks, guys....
Aitch, I'd love to take a trip to Australia, especially in the winter (actually, have wanted to go there since I was a kid). Perhaps if we have an exceptionally good year of business I might be able to coax my hubby into it! The hard part would be getting Grandpa and Grandma to cooperate and take the kids for a week or more, LOL!

Hey Melissa, hope you're doing okay up there with a potential two foot snowfall by Friday Night!!! It's pretty harrowing down here in Mpls, but nothing like you are probably experiencing. Stay safe!

Thanks, Mark!
So far we're doing fine, as the main part of the storm has gone south of us--we've only had a dusting of snow here so far, although school will be delayed by two hours tomorrow.
Duluth has really gotten clobbered by the storm, with schools and most businesses closed today, and probably tomorrow too.
I'm still wishing we could have stayed in Texas another month.... sigh....
