But I am certainly open to suggestions how to obtain a Lemmy like sound with the Marshall emulation on one of the pods.
What's a good SS amp with a good fuzz/disortion

My pod's (1 and xt) certainly are not too difficult for me. I like lots of knobs and buttons and always find out what to do with them. I like the clean sounds. But when driven into distortion most amp models have a synthetic sound to them i.m.h.o..

A very simple way to get a nice natural distortion is to crank both volumes to the max on the bass....I have some P basses with Duncan pick ups giving one hell of a distorted sound when cranked...RICs also give nice natural distortion when set at max volume, but cleaner sounding...Then of course the signal goes to your favorite pedals set up.
I use a Tech 21 driver combined to a big muff ( old thing but still good )...I'm into sound similar to what Burton was creating...like the bombshell intro of ``For whom the bell tolls``...especialy the various live recordings of it...But it's not for everyone. My lead guitarist doesnt like at all, saying the guitars should sound like that NOT the bass !!
