Bayou Cables
Not very long time ago the bayou Cables were recommended here as one of the best cables on the market. I got one and it really did not connect well with my 4003. I tried both inputs of the Ric-o-sound and in each of them I just got one pick up. In the middle selector position (both pickups) I just got the neck pickup. I thought I had a problem with my jack input, but I had it just checked by my luthier and it was fine. All my other cables work fine with it and the only one giving me problems was the bayou one. I sent it back to Butch to be checked. He did and he said that the cable is perfect and something about the fact that some jacks use standard and some metric plugs that are different lenght. I did tell him I am using it on Rickenbacker made in the USA so his plugs made in Louisiana should be compatible. I really did not have anything resolved.
I was wondering if any of you experienced anything like this or is it just my turquoise 4001 a "red headed stepchild" here.

I am good with my fingers and I can do it all night !
Have you made sure that it isn't the bass? You do get both pickups using other cables? I do know that right angle plugs won't work on Tele-style guitars, due to that recessed cup the jack is mounted in.
FWIW, I use cables that I have made up to my specs by the folks at www.procablesnsound.com.
My cable of choice for hooking my basses up to my rig is a Canare GS6 with right angle plugs at both ends. I've also had them make special speaker wire harnesses for my bass and PA rigs. Everything they've sent so far works great and is built like a brick (insert building of choice here)!

My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

I never knew Mike from Fulltone was selling cables. They look pretty interesting.
