Amber Fireglo?

Post by law »

Let's see some amber fireglo pics. Toss up between that and Mapleglo. Help me make my decision.

Luke, remember FireGlo is a very difficult color to capture with a camera. Just a heads up.

One on the bay - for color.

A AFG guitar pic here

4003 AFG here

another

That ought to get you started.

What will an amber look like in 30 years, if pink turns to amber?

Nice flip top Roy, How bout the P? Based on the headstock logo I would put it at 1964-1966.

The P-bass is a 1966 made two days before I was. It's an amazing bass.

Mine resembles both the Music Zoo and Wilcutt examples. The binding is very yellow, and the inlays are almost greenish. The coloring of mine almost resembles a peach. Plays like a dream.

How can you be sure? In Fender neck dates, the digit before the month indicates guitar model, not the day of the month. For example, "2 Dec 64 B" means a Strat (that's the "2") made on December '64 with a B-width nut.

I'm well aware of that, but 66s are a bit different because many I have seen also have a small ink stamp in the neck pocket at well next to the shift stamp. This bass says it was made on the 2nd shift 08/08/66 ie two days before me. I have a 66 Esquite made 1st shift 08/10/66 the same as me and a Mustang made 08/11/66 (can't read the shift on it). I've all so got a bassman amp made Aug.66 as well as a Tremolux and a Super Reverd, but I only found this out after buying them. It's funny how these things work.

Roy, you are lucky to have been born in 1966, for me it was 1957. A collection like yours would really cost...!

Although born in 1958, I would never want a 4001 older than 1972. Image

Ilan and Roy,

I learned something today about Fenders! I never new that's what the first digit meant.
I think my JB is 7 Aug 65.

Sorry for the thread drift!
I like Fireglo a lot, but MG is my favorite!

Keep it up Jared!

If I win the mega lottery I'm buying Rickenbacker and building you one of those baby's.

Ummm.......... Mr. Hall, um, er, how much?

Oh, if I buy the company, do I get to meet Ms. Hoffs?

If not, I'm out & Jared, you are on your own, sorry pal.
I'm just happy to be here.
