Isn't that when Jacko loses the rights his share of the Beatles' publishing catalog?

Let's hope this means that Beatles songs will appear on movie soundtracks...So someone might like the song and go, "Huh...The Beatles? I might have to look into them!" The only reason I'm saying this is because I have some close friends that have NEVER heard of a little jem called, "Nowhere Man"! And, this may sicken some of you, I have some other friends who have never heard "Yesterday". I know, I know.....Just let the tears flow!
Yes, I know that this might mean Beatle songs in advertisements(Everyone...just let go of your "Revolution+Nike hatred"). But if you listen, they are already there...only in cover versions. Yes, it pains me to hear the *********** version of "From Me To You" for a commercial that I forget what it's for. And it makes me laugh at the GE commercials that use a cover of "Getting Better. When I see their commercials with someone, I tell them, "Gee, I wonder WHY they left out the middle of that song???"(Die hard fans, ya feelin' me?). My point is that, maybe it could be a GOOD thing hearing the original in a commercial. Maybe it might turn some people on to our "Religion"! Look what Apple did for "Jet" with their IPod ads. That got me into Jet...And three yesrs later I bought an IPod....but that's a whole other issue. I really hope you all got my point...And will leave the rotten vegetables in the trash...To throw another time.

What I may lack in common sense, I make up in sarcasm.
I agree wholeheartedly with you Brian. My 20 yo daughter asked for the No.1 album a while ago, and tells me her friends love it! As with commercials bringing newer ,younger generations into the realm of the Beatles music, i think the Smithereens release of 'Meet the Smithereens" could do the same!
Never heard "Yesterday"??????? ...as i dry my tears, .... Oh My God!!!!!

Just so we don't think it's only the younger who hasn't heard the Beatles, I'll tell you that until 5 years ago, my best friend (51 years old) -- a classical trombonist -- had never heard any of their albums. So I made her listen to Introducing the Beatles, Rubber Soul, Pepper and Let It Be. Her comment: "They sound like they were having fun!" Apparently she thought that if you are a professional musician, it is all a large PITA. And my wife, who will be 50, once asked me "Was Paul McCartney in another band once?" Argh.
