If he's stamping serial numbers, why wouldn;t he at least stamp different numbers?

Because that'd require making another stamp, and therefore additional expenses... methinks.

I don't believe the situation is quite that fraudulent.

I'm no friend of Doc's, and certainly didn't know him in (or since) the late '70s, but it seems to me to be one of two things: laziness (many plates, one old photo--why take another photo?) or covering his a** with three auctions running simultaneously--he can pull the two lower-bidded items and leave the third to run its course.

...And then take a month to ship out the final item...

On the stamp issue--I think Chris has a valid point.

The numbers on these stamps are interchangeable, Sheena, and they come in sets. However, the style that RIC has used and currently uses, are not readily available, and the equipment to do this properly and evenly enough to convince anyone willing to pay top dollar, is not exactly a hammer and a pair of pliers.
