Quite practical, John. A workmanlike approach.
Now will someone please talk to Berger???

With all these confusing and contradictory approaches to pronouncing or spelling Rickenbacker, I am tempted to ask "How Do You Spell Relief"?
Naturally, it is: R-O-L-A-I-D-S
n’est pas?

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and sit in with the band whenever you can, to keep your chops up!

Not meaning any offence, just want to ask: what's the actual point of this thread? Is it simply to show differences or, perhaps (hope not), to force everybody to always write the same way, with all other variants ("Ric", "Ricky") being "prohibited"?..
Mean, sooner or later, every community develops their own argot which is understood by the members of that community but may be hard to understand for others and which they use while talking to each other. But it's developing naturally, at least from all i know. "Forcing" - or just saying "you should spell it this way and the other way is wrong", - not sure if it works, or at least i don't know of any situation when it worked, and sometimes it's exactly vice versa...

Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

I usually call 'em "Rics" myself.... I think "Rick" looks more like a nickname for Richard, and I think of "RIC" as the corporation....
As far as misspellings go, how about this gaming token from the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas? "RICKENBACER!"
