Now before I report on Aitch's wonderful performance, I need to confess that I knocked over two drinks, separately, while I was standing in the audience last night. I think I managed to spray beer on each of the Forumites who were with me.
Frank's father, Joe, said that he had never been to a gig before where he had almost drowned!
I thought I should confess first up before everyone else dobbed me in.
Aitch's band opened up the evening with a well-chosen set of songs, which were performed in an enthusiastic and disciplined manner. When you consider that the members of the band have only been together for a few weeks, and are NOT professional musicians, they did a bloody great job.
Aitch stole the show as far as we were concerned. Not only was his Monty Brown 350 Rickenbacker the coolest guitar to grace the stage the whole night, but Howard's choice of a Budweiser Beer shirt was pure rock'n'roll and a tip of the hat to his American friends. He rocked out like Motorhead never have!
Aitch, we're all very proud of you taking this big step. Twelve months ago you were the shy, retiring type, when it came to playing in guitar in public. Last night's effort was a real achievement. Good onya mate!

Here,Here!.... Great photos Darren! We weren't going to mention your drunken escapade ,but seeing as you did....."Taxi!"
Last night was a fantastic opportunity for Howard to get up there and fly the flag for all Rickenbacker enthusiasts the world over! Aitch, you did us proud mate! You guys were by far, the slickest act for the night, thanks for inviting us all along, very enjoyable!
The "usual suspects",i.e,Darren Trott, Ron Viney, Joe and Frank Naccarata and myself had a ball cheering you on!
My personal highlight of the night was your great version of Creams "White Room", foolowed closely by The Sunnyboys "Alone with you'.

First and foremost I'd like to express my sincerest gratitude to the forum members who attended last night: Darren 'Spills' Trott, Greg Rahilly, Ron Viney, Frank Naccarata and his terrific dad Joe. I can't tell you guys how much your support and very kind assessment means to me. It was also very nice to have Rodica (one of my co-workers) come along as well. She was all over me like a rash after the gig...... you'd think I was a bloody rock star or something!! Now she's pressuring me about my next one.... I have a 'groupie' after only one performance!
Were it not for this wonderful place I would probably never have taken this step and certainly would not have met such a fantastic group of caring and supportive people. Given that Darren, Greg and Ron are all seasoned performers, my nervous state was somewhat enhanced.
I figured there would be something liquid running down my legs at some stage but I never expected it to be beer and would have thought it would be before the set..... LOL!!
I fluffed on a few occasions - where I least expected to - but I think it went pretty well overall. It's amazing how quickly time goes when you're only on stage for only half an hour..... seemed like 5 minutes!! I'm looking forward to receiving the CD and DVD - it will be 'warts and all' but I wouldn't have it any other way.
My apologies to all the songwriters and original artists....... no murder was committed but a couple of songs are in hospital in a critical condition!
Thanks again for your support, guys. Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon!

I've been saving my 400th post, for a special occasion and this is it. Well done Howard and all of the guys, for getting up and having a go.
For the short time these guys had together, all of the bands performing put up pretty polished presentations. Howard's group had a little extra stress of kicking the night off and warming up the crowd for the others - not that we needed warming up, we were all pretty pumped for the respective groups anyway.
I'm pleased to report that they pulled it off, without any train wrecks!
Now I have to come to the defence of Darren here, although he fessed up to breaking the cardinal rule of wasting beer, it was due to his enthusiasm of what was happening on stage, and not that he had over indulged!
Whenever, any of the guys pulled off a difficult lick or used a novel way to cover for an instrument used in the original song, he would spin around with a big smile and a thumbs up, however his elbow tended to be right in line with the glasses on the table. I've made a mental note though, to wear a rain coat and gum boots if I go to another one of these do's in the future!
A great night had by all.

Congratulations, Howard (Rickenbacker) Bishop!
I was quite proud to be there wearing my Rick t-shirt when Howard was on stage with the only Rickenbacker on the night!
I was truly amazed at the quality of all 5 bands and their ability to put on such an entertaining show in the short space of time they had to prepare.
My favorite songs from the night were White Room - Cream, Creep - Radiohead and All Right Now - Free.
Awesome night! Good to see fellow forumites on the night as well!
