I would buy a copy of The Italian Macca Experience!

Even the "Beatles Anthology" scores conveniently do not notate the fast runs on that song. Perhaps it's, "You're on your own for this, mate".

This has been the bane of my bass playing existence. Song books always ignore the bass part. Even if it's just a short break (like Brown Eyed Girl) it will just basically say 'insert bass solo here.'

And speaking of Beatle songs, my band has just added Guitar Gently Weeps to our repertoire. Any tips on that one anyone has to offer?
The only recorded version I have is the Bangladesh concert (and the clips on YouTube).

David, you're from the Philippines, correct? (So is my wife, from Cabanatuan.) Well, with Francesco's Italian bass, your Filipino drums, Rob's American guitar all playing the songs of 4 guys from Liverpool, that ought to make a nice international package.

it'd be great to show up at one of the following confluence and play something together Image

I am thinking to fly to USA, maybe in autumn or next spring... my wife has a good lady friend who got married with an american guy from Ohio... they've invited us, so maybe it's time for my 4th visit in the USA Image

Francesco,

Let us know when you are going to be over here.
Where in Ohio will you be going? I live in Pennsylvania, but only 10 miles from Ohio.

Francesco,
we want "Old Brown Shoe" now.

P.S. what amp do you use?
P.P.S sorry, but on Savoy Truffle your first two

Hey Francesco:

The anthology CDs have some versions of the songs that don't have bass. You could play along to these and be the only bass player. "Hello Goodbye" and "Your Mother Should Know" are two I remember that don't have bass.

Timothy, I'll work on Hello Goodbye... As far as I remember is the only "missing bass" song which is similar to the final track...so the result might be nice Image

Francesco, I’m in awe in your ability to capture McCartney’s essence in your playing. I can never stop at watching one video. Your videos make me realize all the more what a genius McCartney was at crafting a bass line.

They just don’t play bass like that anymore!

The OBS vid also convinces me that that was McCartney playing bass on that song. Those patterns are signature McCartney.

Cheers Francesco!
