Whay model is this?

Post by xakattack »

It looks like a 4001v63 but the trussrod cover is like that of a c64. The serial indicates it was made in 1987.

A side note: what would its approximate value be?

Thanks!

Looks like a regular v63 with a "smiley" c64 TRC to me.

Yea, it looks like someone wanted the Mac look on a budget. If the bass is a V63, especially an earlier one, should be worth around $2k in good condition. Slightly less if it's a set neck 4001s, although my experience is that those are great basses as well. Looks like a V63 to me.

No horseshoe, and I don't think it's a RIC PUP in their either. I would value at 1400 USD

The pickup looks like a re-issue HS without the 'shoes.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

It has chunky horns, maybe an 80's bass.

Thats a Reissue horsey allright. Maybe an "S" 4003 with stained wings?

Not a bad looking bass.

S or v63? All we need is a picture of the back and then all would be revealed!

Square neck heel. That makes it a V63.
