The give-away is that there is no dot at the 19th fret. That is a thick horned V63 so it is an early example. I agree with Sergio that the pickup is a genuine VRI horseshoe sans the shoes. Apart from the extra hole in the headstock it appears to be in good shape.
I actually was debating the BIN but didn't have enough info to base my decision. I was concerned that it was an "s" with a the bridge p/u surround and dyed headstock wings with painted over 19th fret marker....that would be my luck. Oh well.....
I was in the middle of writing a heads-up post when I checked if the link works, only to see that the bass was BIN'ed. I would have hit the BIN myself if it wasn't for the fat horns and lack of shoes.
