Bass Rigs.........

Post by cerrem »

Please forgive me for wanting to show off...
I know I missed out on the "Show your Rig" thread..
I wanted to show off my Favorite Bass and favorite Bass Amp.... I spent a lot of time getting this set-up just the way i wanted...
Both cabinets are the early "flat-back" type with the Alnico speakers.... I am in Heaven Image
Feel free to post your photos...
Any other SVT people out there????

Fireglo's always nice to see ....

I'm not too proud of the head (but it is reliable and OK-ish...), but the new cab so far has been working our wonderfully! Image

Hi Jim....
Both of those cabs are 8x10 cabs....
I do have a 2x15" downstairs in the garage...It is the same Height and Width as the 8x10 , but it is 2 feet deep!!! It weighs in a 210!!! That cab is reflex cab with Heavy Duty 15" Altecs and can set off car alarms from 2 blocks away!!!! Image
Yea...that is a 1965 plexi 100W Marshall in the back...That head is very old and all original..It has an aluminum chassis and uses KT66 tubes..The power transformer in there is a old RS hammertone enclosed canister...

Thanks Chris,
THe reason I thought the were 2x15's is they look very similar in height to the old Fender 2x15.

Jim....
The early SVT 8x10 "flat back" cabs were approximately 1" shorter than the later SVT 8x10 cabs that had the wheels and the handle on the back..
The reason they became taller was to maintain the same air space behind the speakers, since the upper and lower speaker compartments were intruded upon when they cut away 45 degrees of wood in the back..they made up for this by making the cab a bit taller on top and bottom...middle two compartments stayed the same...

I just got an SVPCL preamp and am in the process of finding a good power amp for it. Then it will power either 2 215s or 1 215 and later an 810. Sumpin like that.

Hmm... Nice, cool-looking Ampegs, guys. I certainly would love to listen to my 21 fret 4001 through those fine pieces of equipment.

HEHEHE!! I will sweeten THAT deal! Hey Sérgio, I have about four dozen Ampegs, both SVTs and V4B, plus loads of V4 heads, combos, etc, and some solid-state preamps out in my warehouse. All dating from 1972 or earlier. The SVTs are all blue-lines from 1969 and early 1970.

So, please don't send Jacklyn to any of these guys!

Send her to ME Image Image Image I will send you Ampegs Image Image Image And I too will record her through more Ampegs and then send you the CDs......
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and sit in with the band whenever you can, to keep your chops up!
