By the way, I'm not much of a Fender fan but is a beautiful finish/pickguard combination on that p-bass! It's no DCM though...

That looks like a standard Midnight Wine finish from fender ...

I am pretty sure it is, too, but it does look very nice with that pickguard.

Needs a rosewood fingerboard though

If I do mine it will have a rosewood fingerboard, which will look better than the maple board.

the bass he played in the studio is not what he was on the set of the today show with. the bass in the studio looks like a gibson. there was never really a clear shot of it.
it is the 2nd time that I have seen him Playing bass.

On this mornings Today show (Friday 3/23) they had Pink, her bassist who was an Asian lady was using a lovely Fireglo 4003.
