I felt that since I mentioned the one year anniversary of buying this bass in another thread I should post some updated pics. There have been some changes since Jeff and Chris owned it, I've struggled with liking the toaster/B string combination and that resulted in going back to hb1's. I also went through a bunch of B strings until I found the LaBella Hard Rocking Steels, WOW...they make all the others sound and feel like ****, I highly recommend them.
Here's the bridge, it's an Allparts base with Hipshot saddles, about a 2 1/2" spread.
Here's the trussrod access routes RIC did when Jeff had some problems.
Where do you put a fifth tuner? Well here's where I put it and it's worked great so far, thanks to RIC for putting lots of meat in that headstock.
The black silk in the last pic is the LaBelle .128 taper core B, the rest are DR Hi Beams.

Hey Mark, how do you like the tone of the BB Laredo vs. your Cii? Just curious.
I started playing my ex-Cii less and less since I preferred the brighter tone of the Laredo. Your p/u's are closer to the bridge so that may offset any mellowness that my "other spaced p/u" version had. I was never able to get my Cii to sound as angry as my Laredo or LK and it was disappointing since it was a stunning looking Ric that was otherwise a fantastic player.
Brian- I also prefer my Laredo to the Cii, it's brighter, it's lighter, and the neck is thinner. I'm keeping the Cii because it's a looker and my RBI can brighten it up to acceptable levels.

Oooh. That IS pretty. I'll also be converting the 4004MG to concentric controls when it gets her. They'll be in stereo though, with a full size Les Paul selector switch with a gold tip
