Very Small Toronto Confluence
Last night I had the pleasure of meeting up with fellow forumite Dave McDonald. We talked Rickenbackers over a couple of pints and oggled each other's respective basses. I brought my 4004LK and 4001 V63 SG, while Dave had his '78 4002 and '66 4005. Both of Dave's basses were set up beautifully and were a joy to play - the 4005 in particular played "like butta"! Definitely the slimmest Ric neck I've ever experienced. Going back to my V63 felt like playing a baseball bat! Thanks again Dave, and we'll have to have another confluence later this year for all Toronto area Rickenbacker enthusiasts.

Man, that's a tasty Rickenbacker bass quartet there, Steve. What an opportunity to bench test and compare four of the best!

'59 425, '59 335, '60 335, '60 360, '60 335F, '60 345F, '64 RM 1999, '65 RM 1998, '65 360-12, '66 335, '67 450-12, '72 4001 '72 4001, '75 4000, '75 4000CS, '00 700S, '01 700C, '01 700S-12, '01 730S-FH, '06 660 DCM

Hi all, sorry for checking late but I'm on vacation this week and just got around to checking e-mail and my usual on-line "haunts".
I have to echo Steve and say how much fun it was to get together. Rics & beer - all in one place! Yee-hah!
I've talked to Steve on a couple occasions via e-mail before but it was certainly a treat to get to meet him in person. What a nice guy! And I can't forget his basses! I never thought I'd be able to hold an LK so the opportunity to play around on it plus my favourite shade of V63 was amazing.
I've got to say thanks to Steve for agreeing to meet and for making it a lot of fun!
Since I won't be able to make MARF I think we should do it again and invite everyone else close to Toronto...
