Pickup Selector problem.

Post by revolver »

I was doing some recording yesterday and noticed that the high end kept dropping out when the pickup selector was in the treble position. I'd switch to the middle position, then back to the treble position. The top end would come back briefly, but then drop out again.

Do I have a bad switch?

That's the first thing I'd check...clean those contacts on the treble (inboard) side of the switch with some very fine (1000) wetordry sandpaper or crocus cloth. If this doesn't work, I'd check all of the solder joints. Pots last.
