the begin date for warranty purpose is actually set 6 weeks ahead to cover this contingency.

Not that I've ever needed warranty service, but that is interesting as the warranty statement on the card states on the first paragraph that "this warranty begins upon the date of manufacture as stamped on this card".

Does it mean then that the manufacture date stamped on the card and the guitar is purposefully marked 6 weeks ahead prior to shipping the completed instrument?

I've been on the receiving end of a John Hall smackdown once or twice and it's not a pleasant feeling, but it is educational. It's just like my grandmother used to say, "You don't know that you don't know".

It's also nice to know that when someone takes delivery of a new Rickenbacker guitar, and it's date of manufacture is dated maybe 3 to 4 weeks ahead, that person won't think they may have warped into in the twilight zone.
